The Romeiras area is a regular site for the presence of iconic large birds of prey, such as španski kraljevi orel, planinski orel, and kragulji orel, as well as beloglavi jastreb and rjavi jastreb. It is also common to observe some species typically associated with steppe areas, like mala droplja, črna stepska kokoška, južna postovka, zlatovranka, and also sredozemski kupčar and španski škrjanec. With a constant water presence, it regularly attracts various species of waterfowl, as well as species like rjava komatna tekica and črnonoga čigra during the breeding season.

Access
The Romeiras site is located near the villages of Alvares, Penilhos and Romeiras. You can reach the area either via the municipal road CM1145, which leads to Alvares, or the municipal road EM509, which provides access to Penilhos and Romeiras. The circular route indicated on the map is about 15 km.
