Wooded river area with a lagoon that holds water dep. on the season. Accessible from April to snowfall. A local stream has recently been diverted thru the area.

Description

Trettøya is a wet forest area along the river Orkla with a small seasonal lagoon. It is a breeding area for many passerines. Some waders also, like školjkarica, mali martinec, zelenonogi martinec and rdečenogi martinec. Also a chance on feeding žerjav. mali deževnik breed in the area. Other birds you can encounter are vrtna penica, bičja trstnica, rumeni vrtnik, žličarica, konopnica, liska, zvonec and kreheljc.

Access

There is a rough gravel road crossing a metalled bridge from the County road. Several parking possibilities. Click on a P in the map to get directions to that point. Observe salmon fishing in the river from June 1st to August 31st. Can cause some traffic and disturbances. No public transport, so bicycle from nearby communities or by car is mandatory. Occasionally and partly flooded.
