Nauerna is a wetland area sandwiched between the Westzaan-Beverwijk provincial road and the Nooder IJ and Zeedijk. From this dike you have a good view of the entire area with the sun in your back for most of the day. Wading birds such as močvirski martinec and črni martinec can be well observed here. kvakač and mala bela caplja are also seen here.

Nederlands: Nauerna is een natuurontwikkelingsproject in de zuidwestpunt van veenweidegebied de Asseldelver Polder. Nauerna is een veenweidegebied met verhoogde waterstand en plasdras, ingeklemd tussen provinciale weg Westzaan-Beverwijk en de Nooder IJ- en Zeedijk. Vanaf deze dijk heb je goed zicht op het gehele gebied met het grootste deel van de dag de zon in de rug. Waadvogels als močvirski martinec en črni martinec laten zich goed bekijken. Ook kvakač en mala bela caplja worden hier gezien.
From the roundabout at Buitenhuizen, choose the N246 towards Westzaan and turn right almost immediately to stay on the dike. Park the car here and continue on foot. Click on the P in the map for directions.
