Water from the dunes runs towards the south point of Texel. Het Grote Vlak consists of a few lakes in this water course.

Description

Het Grote Vlak often holds a lot of ducks ( žličarica , konopnica , dolgorepa raca , duplinska kozarka , žvižgavka and in spring reglja ), gulls and grebes. Sometimes waders, like črnorepi kljunač , are abundant and few songbirds, like vriskarica and prosnik (sometimes even modra taščica ), can be found. The area is also good for finding duplar , kupcar and in winter koconoga kanja .

Access

Het Grote Vlak is easily accessible from the village of Den Hoorn towards the beach. You can park on the roadside, but try to give way to cyclists on the parallel cycle path.
