The area of about 200 hectares, includes brackish water, reed beds, woodland, meadows and canals. After being purchased by WWF, plants of the planífico igrofilo forest kind were re-introduced: oak, black poplar, elm, ash and other typical species. Valle Averto is one of the most important areas of the Venice lagoon for the wintering, migration and breeding birds.
