The Cesane mountains have an altitude of about 600 meters and host an interesting array of birds, including birds of prey and many forest birds.
The Monti delle Cesane are located near Urbino. The Cesane mountains have an altitude of about 600 meters. An asphalted road runs along the entire ridge starting from Urbino and descending to Fossombrone. The area has predominantly conifers with touches of holm oak, downy oak, hornbeam. Among the birds you can see are menišček, čopasta sinica, kratkoprsti plezalček, lesna sova, mala uharica, čuk, veliki detel, zelena žolna, skobec, kragulj, kanja, sokol selec, navadna postovka, kačar and Sršenar.

Una strada asfaltata percorre tutto il crinale partendo da Urbino e scendendo a FOSSOMBRONE. predominano conifere con tatti di leccio,roverella,carpino. Si possono osservare cincia mora, cincia bigia, cinciarella, cinciallegra, cincia dal ciuffo, rampichino, picchio verde, picchio rosso, sparviere,poiana, Astore,Gheppio, falco pecchiaiolo.
You can drive along the road and make different stops or you can explore the area on foot. There are many different trails you can walk. On the map you see Sentiero CAI n. 137 (Path 137) which is the longest (7 km, one way) and most demanding of the Cesane area. It starts from a small square, usable as a parking lot, near the ancient citadel overlooking Fossombrone.
