Description

Bosco Bovedo is very interesting from a botanical point of view due to the coexistence of Mediterranean, Balkan and Alpine species. Slavonian oak is typical. The forest is crossed by some watercourses and has a small pond. At least twelve species of reptiles and amphibians, including the fire salamander, numerous small mammals but also badgers, roe deer and wild boars. Around fifty species of birds can be observed including veliki detel, srednji detel, mali detel, zelena žolna, brglez, kratkoprsti plezalček, kanja, skobec, krokar, grivar, cikovt, močvirska sinica, vrbji kova ek, žametna penica, dolgorepka, dlesk, tašcica. And migratory birds: kukavica, kobilar, podhujka, črnoglavi muhar, grmovščica, severni kovaček, hribska listnica, sivi muhar, taščična penica, vrtna penica.

Italiano: Un gran bel bosco a due passi dal mare, a due passi dal centro cittadino, oasi di biodiversità botanica ed animale. Area protetta Natura 2000, ZPS e ZSC. Molto interessante dal punto di vista botanico per la convivenza di specie mediterranee, balcaniche ed alpine; il Rovere di Slavonia è l’essenza tipica del bosco che è attraversato da alcuni corsi d’acqua ed ospita un piccolo stagno. Almeno dodici le specie tra rettili ed anfibi, tra cui la salamandra pezzata, numerosi i piccoli mammiferi ma anche tassi, caprioli e cinghiali. Sono osservabili una cinquantina di specie di uccelli tra cui: veliki detel, srednji detel, mali detel, zelena žolna, brglez, kratkoprsti plezalček, kanja, skobec, krokar, grivar, cikovt, močvirska sinica, vrbji kova ek, žametna penica, dolgorepka, dlesk, tašcica. Tra i migratori: kukavica, kobilar, podhujka, črnoglavi muhar, grmovščica, severni kovaček, hribska listnica, sivi muhar, taščična penica, vrtna penica.

Access

Park in Via Bonomea and reach the forest on foot, through the small village of Terstenico (Via Terstenico or Via Stradivari). Alternatively, park at the end of Via Ulderico Moro and proceed on foot. Many paths within the forest can also be traveled by mountain bike.

Italiano: Parcheggiare in Via Bonomea e raggiungere il Bosco a piedi, attraverso il borghetto di Terstenico (Via Terstenico o Via Stradivari). In alternativa parcheggiare in fondo a Via Ulderico Moro e procedere a piedi. Molti sentieri all'interno del Bosco sono percorribili anche in mountain bike.
