Description
More than 100 bird species have been seen in Levadi marsh . On one side this semi-flooded marsh area is bordered by the sea. A road to a quarry runs on one side along from the sea and on the other side the marsh is overlooked by a hillside. The small wetland attracts wading birds such as mala bela caplja, velika bela čaplja, čopasta čaplja and kreheljc. Also vodomec can be seen. The surrounding reeded pools, scrubland and fir trees also attract tits, finches, rjavi lunj and žametna penica. It’s also common to see čebelar and buzzards and eagles in this area.
