Description
Especially in winter the bay of Wohlenberger Wiek is worth visiting with a high possibility to spot rjavka. The birds come into the bay when it is windy to seek protection from the wind. Then you can see up to 1000 rjavka and, with luck and patience, zlatouhi ponirek and črnovrati ponirek. Sometimes you can also see divers, such as polarni slapnik. On the way there, you should also keep an eye on the fields, as there is a chance to spot siva vrana, labod pevec and maybe even mali labod. For photographers this is not a very good place, because the birds are mostly up to 700m out at the sea.
In summer birds like komatni deževnik, veliki škurh and poljski vrabec can be observed. zimska raca, crna raca, gaga, srednji žagar and beloliska can be spotted too. Personally, I only visited the area in winter. Please leave a comment below if you want to add info about other seasons in Wohlenberger Wiek.
