Description

The Schenkenwald forest is particularly good for some forest birds, that are much harder to find elsewhere in the region. No. 1 is the črnoglavi muhar. The forest has a lot of nestboxes and therefore a remarkably high density of črnoglavi muhar. No. 2 is the srednji detel. They are always there and chances are high, especially in winter. With some luck mali detel is also possible. No. 3 is the kobilar. Hard to see, but they are there. The best chances you have in the southern part of the forest.

Also mentionable are reliable močvirska sinica and quite high numbers of rjavi škarnik and bela štorklja in the surrounding fields. With some luck, duplar is possible.
