In Schellbruch reserve close to the city of Lübeck you find different types of habitats with a great variety of birds in a rather small area (although the complete reserve is not small at all. The reserve is managed by the NABU (German organisation for protecting nature) and a local organic farmer.
Good all year through but best in late spring. Fantastic place for modra taščica, trstni cvrčalec, brkata sinica, belorepec and Woodpeckers. In autumn also great flocks of geese in some years. mali deževnik and priba occur as well as vodomec. Winter is good for veliki srakoper, mali žagar, veliki žagar and sometimes bobnarica.
