Description
The in parts newly rewetted polders around Anklam are ideal, especially those around the river Peene, for observing special breeding birds as well as many migrants during the whole season. The large scale water areas inhabit a huge amount of waterfowl with species like žličarica, reglja and siva gos. Besides reed breeders such as rjavi lunj and bičja trstnica, sometimes črnovrati ponirek and belolična čigra are found there with several pairs, not to forget all the other species of their belonging groups. Furthermore, depending on the season, different birds of prey like belorepec , močvirski lunj or škrjančar can also be discovered here.

Access
Polder Menzlin can be easily accessed via a small car park near the canoe rental Menzlin. Click on the P on the map for directions. The area can be explored using the signposted trails. The two walks indicated on the map are about 2 km.
