Description
The Langwieser See is a small lake. The lake itself isn't very good for birding, but sometimes you can spot vodomec there. In the reed area about 100 meters east of the lake, in winter you can see for example trstni strnad and sometimes also Mokož. In summer it's full of srpična trstnica. West to the lake, there are nice water reservoirs, which in winter often contain puklež (best to spot with a thermal imaging camera), and sometimes kozica.
South to the reservoirs, there is a smal bush land with rumeni strnad, lišček and in winter often pinoža. In the gardens and trees along the small stream you can find čižek in winter and pogorelček and rjava penica in summer. Sometimes you can also hear a slavec here.
Very good are the fields around the whole area. During migration you can see travniška cipa, močvirska trstnica, prosnik (sometimes also staying over winter), kragulj, kupcar, rumena pastirica, mlinarček and rarely vijeglavka, priba and pepelasti lunj. All year round you will find repnik, poljski škrjanec, siva čaplja and navadna postovka. Sometimes you can also see jerebica, skobec or sokol selec.
