Close views of brkata sinica and srpična trstnica, with luck also plašica, are possible from the boardwalk (no scope needed). bobnarica is often seen flying out of the reeds near the boardwalk, especially in winter. An occupied ribji orel nest can be seen from the boardwalk in summer.

Walking through the village (grilček, bela štorklja), make sure to have a look for vodomec along the river Nieplitz.

From the tower you overlook the wetlands of the Ungeheuerwiesen. A breeding ribji orel, priba, kozica and with luck smrdokavra can be seen.
