Description

Alte Elbe is an old arm of the river Elbe near the town of Gerwisch. Good chances to see belorepec, ribji orel and žerjav. Many waterbirds, especially during migration time (e.g., velika bela čaplja, siva čaplja, siva gos, njivska gos, žličarica, kreheljc, reglja, labod pevec, mali žagar, veliki žagar, čopasti ponirek, mali ponirek, priba, zelenonogi martinec, črni martinec, togotnik). In the adjacent areas rjavi škarnik, črni škarnik, navadna postovka, črna žolna, vijeglavka, and very occasionally čebelar or smrdokavra can be seen.
