Description
At the river Ahr are breeding mali deževnik and vodomec. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding čuk (10 territories in 2020). rjavi srakoper and kobiličar are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding slavec , kobilar and srednji detel. You can also see črni škarnik and škrjančar during breeding time. In the little reedbed are srpična trstnica and močvirska trstnica (also common next to the Ahr). kratkoperuti vrtnik and rumeni vrtnik can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like ribji orel and pikasti martinec. In winter you can see some wintering birds like povodni kos.

Access
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
