L'Étang Saint Nicolas has a very diversified environment with the lake but also moors, reed beds and forest. it is located in an urban environment and has easy access. It is home to some common aquatic birds, but also many passerines, woodpeckers and kobilar on migration.

Français: Immense parc avec des points de vue multiples et une boucle autour de l'étang de 7,8 km. Milieu très diversifié avec l'étang mais aussi, landes, roselière, rypisylve, forêt. L'intérêt réside surtout dans sa localisation en milieu urbain et son accès facile. Quelques oiseaux aquatiques classiques, mais aussi de nombreux passereaux, pics, loriot de passage.

Access
Many access points all around, on the Belle Beille side by the university as on the Avrillé side, by bus, and soon by tram (rue Saint Jacques). Click on a P in the map to get directions. The circular walk around the lake is about 7,8 km long.
