Les 7 Lacs (the 7 lakes) on the river Durance are artificial lakes created during the construction of the hydroelectric dam of Cadarache. The wetland allows the nesting of birds like rjava čaplja or wintering birds like veliki kormoran. The place is also an important migration stopover for birds. Sometimes črna štorklja is seen during migration. Birds that are most common in the area are labod grbec, mlakarica, mala bela caplja, siva čaplja and čopasti ponirek.

Français: Les sept lacs sur la Durance, sont des lacs artificiels créés lors de la construction du barrage hydro-électrique de Cadarache. Réserve naturelle classé Natura 2000 et située en bordure de la Durance, les 7 lacs forment une zone unique pour la région avec différents "états" de l'eau particulièrement intéressantes pour l'avifaune. Des étendues de galets et marais permettent la nidification de nombreux oiseaux (exemple : le héron pourpre) ou l'hivernage (exemple : le grand cormoran). L'endroit est aussi une importante voie de migration (exemple le plus visible : la cigogne noire).

Access
Easy to access by car. From the parking lot a very easy visit by bike or on foot. Best to avoid the 7 lakes in the summer because of many bathers.
