Description
During migration and winter the water bodies can host lots of ducks if they have not been flushed by fishermen or hunters, among which several dozens of sivka and čopasta črnica and several hundreds of liska . A rarity such as the beloliska or rjavka is always possible in winter. Still in winter but above all during October-November and March the wet grassland is a very good spot for kozica and puklež.
In summer typical breeders include navadna čigra and čopasti ponirek on the lake, rjavi srakoper in the bushes or travniška cipa in the grassland.
In late summer and early autumn when water level drops the south-western water body can be very good for waders particularly močvirski martinec or for a črna štorklja stopover. In spring when water level is higher, črna čigra , belolična čigra or mali galeb are regularly seen foraging over water.
