Ruusuniemi is a nice place for observing waterfowl as they swim around the area or fly by. mlakarica , zvonec , čopasta črnica , labod grbec , kanadska gos , labod pevec , veliki žagar and srednji žagar are a common sight from this spot. Birders have also sighted mali žagar among other duck species and velika bela čaplja flying by. There's also a bird feeding spot in a walking distance during winter times.
