Description

There have been recorded more than 250 birds species. It is a nesting site of the in Silesia rare brkata sinica and there are nesting some other rare birds like čapljica , modra taščica and škrlatec. It is also a popular bird stop during migration time. In Spring you can see there for example kupcar , trstni cvrčalec , črnoglavi galeb , ribji orel and sometimes even povodna trstnica and tamariskovka.

During the Autumn migration you can see many species of waders like spremenljivi prodnik , togotnik , mali prodnik , srpokljuni prodnik , črni martinec , močvirski martinec and some other. Also you can observe grahasta tukalica or Mokož.

In Winter it is an ideal place for watching brkata sinica and if you are lucky you can see wintering bobnarica or severni repnik .

Various bird rarities were also recorded here: ozkokljuni liskonožec , kamenjar , sabljasti martinec , črnorepi kljunač , veliki prodnik , ribji galeb , kričava cigra , polarna čigra , rdeca lastovka , stepski lunj , lastovičji galeb , povodna trstnica , tamariskovka and many others.

Access

The location is inaccessible by car, so it is best to park somewhere in Ostrava and walk to the location or go by bus. I recommend a walk along the western side of the pond. You can make a circle around, but if you want to see some reed birds, it is best to wait near the reeds or go on one of the fishing bridges (but be careful, it can be dangerous).
