The Retencija Blato ticklist is 216 species (see link below). There is an island/peninsula which is a popular bird roost Species seen include škrlatec, grilček, hribski škrjanec, poljski vrabec, rjavka, sabljarka, vijeglavka, čebelar, rjava čaplja, kostanjevka, stepski lunj and rjavi lunj. Note: As of 2022 the website says 'temporarily closed'. Unclear if this applies only to fishing, or all visitors.
