Plateau du Gerny is an area of open fields surrounded by bushes. rjavi škarnik and črni škarnik are frequent. Annual observations of dular, močvirski lunj, rjava cipa and sometimes žerjav on the ground. Rare visiors that have been observed in the area are Ostrožna cipa, rdečegrla cipa, beloglavi strnad, vrtni strnad, snežni strnad, smrdokavra, koconoga kanja, stepski lunj, mali orel, lebduh and rdečenoga postovka.

You can visit the main part of Plateau du Gerny by car but the eastern part is forbidden for cars. The circular route indicated on the map is about 8 km.
