Most of the time people visit this nature reserve during the summer. But also during the winter and migration period you can see intersting bird species. The area is famous for the podhujka which you can see during the summer but in the winter you can see the veliki srakoper. Other birds you can encounter in the area are zvonec, ribji orel, škrjančar, mali sokol, črna štorklja, brglez, krokar, žerjav, črna žolna and lesna sova. Rare visitors are belorepec, rjava cipa, rjava čaplja and polojnik.
