Description
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are brinovka, severni kovaček, veliki žagar, vodomec, pikasti martinec, rumeni vrtnik črnoglavka, mali detel and both dolgoprsti plezalček and kratkoprsti plezalček and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of lišček, čižek, and in late winter pinoža.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find repaljščica here and with some luck črni škarnik. On the pond you can see mali ponirek and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Mokož, trstni strnad, srpična trstnica, rakar and bičja trstnica.
