Description

A fairly easy walk around Yarra Bridge Streamside Reserve. A slight incline about half way, though not to severe. The reserve on the banks of the Yarra River is surrounded by farm land. There is a small swamp in the middle of the reserve which holds water in the winter and spring. This is, I find a very reliable place for Bassian Thrush and Olive Whistlers. Early morning is a great time to visit. Other birds that may be encountered frequently here are Grey Currawong, Wonga Pigeon, Grey Fantail and a resident pair of Azure Kingfishers.

Access

Yarra Bridge Streamside Reserve Small is located just north of Woori Yallock. There is a parking area upstream side of the bridge. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. The circular trial of roughly 2 km is an easy walk with a slight incline. There are a couple of picnic tables along the way. On the downstream side of the bridge there is shorter trail that goes for about 700 meters and at a farm gate (Private Property). Always worth a look for Honeyeaters and Red Browed Finches.
