Description

At the wide part of the river mlakarica and kreheljc are quite common. You can encounter siva čaplja, velika bela čaplja, pikasti martinec, bela pastirica in the floodplain. The riverbed is surrounded by gardens and deciduous forests. So you can find such forest species as tits (velika sinica, plavček), finches (ščinkavec, zelenec) and others (vrbji kova ek, Green Warbler, veliki detel, šoja, kos).

As this site is located in the mountains not far away from cliffs, you also can encounter beloglavi jastreb and hudournik.

Access

This River Aghstev site is located south of the town of Ijevan. You can get there from Ijevan or from Dilijan by taxi or by car along the road M4. The main landmark - a big stone egg near the guesthouse. Turn there from the M4 highway to the East (to the right if you go from Dilijan and to the left if you go from Ijevan). Then accross the dam and follow the unpaved road. You can observe this area both from M4 highway (there is pedestrian sidewalk) and from the unpaved road on the other side of the river. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot.
