Description
The nature reserve consists of a flood storage lagoon owned and operated by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and the Environment Agency. The lagoon is good in winter for common wildfowl, has a small breeding colony of cetia západná, rybárik riečny and chriašteľ vodný, and in summer holds most common visitors like trsteniarik bahenný and trsteniarik malý. Rarities have included kačica chrapačka, kaňa močiarna and bučiak veľký.

Access
Parking is on roads in local village. Public footpath takes you alongside the nature reserve (although access is by arrangement with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust beforehand). The footpath and surrounding farmland provides a pleasant setting.
