Description

When flooded in winter the Ashleworth Ham area attracts large flocks of kačica chrapka, kačica hvizdárka, kačica ostrochvostá, kačica lyžičiarka, chochlačka sivá, plovers and other waders. Large flocks of drozd čvíkota and drozd červenkavý possible. Birds of prey follow the flocks. Sensitive breeding site for močiarnica mekotavá, cibík chochlatý, warblers, trasochvost žltý and strnádka trstinová, therefore no walking trail, but hide and viewing screen provide comprehensive overview. Floodwater can occasionally cover roads in the area completely, take care not to be cut off by rising waters.

From Gloucester follow Over Causeway A419 to Hartpury, then right to Ashleworth, then two more right turns. Parking on roadside verge only.
