Urban park and forest of 55 hectares in the Florya district of Istanbul.
Florya Atatürk Ormanı is a beautiful green area located in the Florya neighborhood in Istanbul. This forested area was established in 1937 by the order of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The park can be very busy, but is nice for some relaxed birding and you have a good chance to spot ďateľ hnedkavý, hrdlička malá, dudok chochlatý, sedmohlások bledý, alexander veľký, alexander malý and kanárik poľný. Especially during migration nice birds can turn up like strakoš obyčajný, muchár sivý, muchárik malý, muchárik čiernohlavý, žltochvost hôrny and penica popolavá.
Florya Atatürk Forest is located in the Florya district of Istanbul. There are 2 main gates and 6 pedestrian gates. You can reach Florya Atatürk Ormanı by public transportation with the Marmaray train (get off at the Florya station, located directly on the south side of the park). Bus line 73, which serves between Levent and Florya, also stops very close to the park.
