Thung Sam Roi Yot has a lotus pond which is a large freshwater field surrounded by 300 mountains behind.
Thung Sam Roi Yot is a wetland containing freshwater and brackish water on a vast natural plain with logged water or flood throughout the year. It is also a viewpoint where you can see the romantic scenery of the sunset. It is a bird watching site with 316 bird species. You may see some important birds building their nests, such as Purple Heron, Lesser Whistling-Duck, Slaty-breasted Rail, White-browed Crake, Streak-eared Bulbul, Little Cormorant, Little Egret, Red-wattled Lapwing, Bronze-winged Jacana and Grey-headed Swamphen that can be seen all year round.
Thung Sam Roi Yot is located 35 km south of Hua Hin. There is no public transport to the viewpoint. The best option is to arrive by car or scooter. There is a parking space right next to the pier. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. There are piers across the marsh, where you can take shelter from the weather or just watch birds. You can also rent a boat, but they make a lot of noise. There is a toilet near the parking lot.
