The Vindelfjällen national park is a large nature reserve in Swedish Lapland. It consists of both high fjälls and birch and taiga forests.

Description

Vindelfjällen is a large reserve which can only be visited on foot. The famous Kungsleden walking trail runs through this area. pomorník malý, kulík vrchovský, kulík zlatý and pobrežník čiernozobý can easily be seen on the fjälls. In the taiga forests, škriekavec zlovestný and snehuľa kapcavá can often be found. sokol poľovnický and stehlík polárny are scarce but can sometimes be seen in the area.

Access

The best place to visit this area is to park the car along the Tjulträskvägen (gps: 65.968090, 16.067258). You can walk a route (~2km) up the mountain on the other side of the road from the parking place, it is called Ammarfjället. Don't forget your boots, because it can be quite wet! Another parking place is on the end of Höbäcken (reindeer slaughtering place) and walk up to fjälls called Björkfjället. Click on a P in the map to get directions.
