Description
From Stora Rör Hamn you have a perfect view of the strait between Öland and the mainland. The strait is a natural migration route for south- and north-bound seabirds. In both autumn and spring, tens of thousands of kajka morská pass through, often at close range and in large flocks. Other common migratory birds are turpan tmavý, turpan čierny, potápač prostredný, potáplica malá and potáplica stredná. From August to October, some pomorník malý, pomorník stredný, and pomorník príživný also pass south. The best migration is in spring with southwesterly winds, and in autumn with northerly winds.
