Skillingaryds Dämme was built as a water treatment plant. Measures taken in recent years have resulted in a new wetland and wet meadows. The new environment with shallow ponds and bushes attracts birds like chriašteľ vodný, sliepočka vodná, trasochvost biely, kulík riečný, brehuľa hnedá, rybárik riečny, kalužiačik malý and hlaholka severská.
