Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are potápka chochlatá, labuť veľká, kaňa močiarna and in some years bučiak veľký,potápka červenokrká and fúzatka trstinová. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are haja červená , ďateľ malý, mlynárka dlhochvostá and sedmihlások hájový. During migration periods large flocks of hus divá , bernikľa veľká , kačica divá and kačica chrapka stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially myšiak hôrny, myšiak severský, haja červená, haja tmavá, kršiak rybár and orliak morský.
