Pozo Tremeo is one of those visits that is worth doing if you are a nature lover. Being the only natural lagoon on the Cantabrian coast, it has a special charm. It is a circular well, surrounded by reeds and sheltered by a small wood. The lagoon is visited by birds such as kačica chripľavka or volavka popolavá and others such as lyska čierna, trsteniarik bahenný or sliepočka vodná inhabit its reeds. If you enter the forest path, you may find birds such as oriešok obyčajný, ďateľ veľký or kôrovník dlhoprstý. The whole area is surrounded by meadows that are inhabited by birds like sýkorka veľká or stehlík konôpka and watched by birds of prey like haja tmavá or sokol myšiar (pustovka).

It is possible to get to the lagoon by road and there is a space where you can park, although, if there are many people, it might be better to leave the car in the village of Polanco. The lagoon has a platform that can be accessed on foot by everyone. However, the route through the forest can be difficult for people with reduced mobility. The circular route indicated on the map is about 2 km.
