Kompenzacioni bazen (compensation pool) has more than 220 species recorded by a single local birder, Ivan Medenica.
Locally common birds include ľabtuška vrchovská, pipíška chochlatá, penica obyčajná and pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý. Followed by frequent jastrab krátkoprstý, penica jarabá, sedmohlások bledý, vlha obyčajná, hrdlička poľná, chrapkáč poľný, lelek lesný and močiarnička tichá.
Local rarities include mouth-watering birds such as pelikán kučeravý, potápka ušatá, penica malá, trsteniarik tamariškový and škovran stepný.
