The Balta Sanpaul Fishponds are ponds with reedbeds and a grazing area for sheep and cattle. Habitat for waterfowl, waders, rails, herons and birds of prey. Birds you can observe in the area include čorík bielokrídly, fúzatka trstinová, holub plúžik, kulík piesočný, kulík riečný, kršiak rybár, bocian čierny, kaňa močiarna, chochlačka bielooká and močiarnička tichá.

The Balta Sanpaul Fishponds are located just outside the village of Sanpaul. Acces by car, parking in front of the fishpond security gate. Press P on the map for directions. Public transport from Odorheiu Secuiesc or Baraolt. Best explored by foot. Allow yourself 2-3 hours for a visit. Note: The platform is in decay. Not safe. There are 2 hides, but these are not accessible for the public.
