The mouth of the Vale Vaqueiro stream is one of the richest areas in avifauna in the central Portugal area. 180 bird species have been recorded here. Among the birds you can encounter are prepelica poľná, kuropta červená, vlha obyčajná, včelárik zlatý, kuvik obyčajný, strakoš prieložný, kolibiarik iberský, bocian čierny, bocian biely, dážďovník lastovičí, kršiak rybár, hrdlička poľná and astrilda vlnkovaná.
