Pontal da Carrapateira is a small peninsula that stands out from the rest of the coast. It is one of the best sites in the Algarve to observe seabirds. The peninsula is located to the west of the N268 road and is covered by three small roads (partially paved), which allows you to make a circular route through this area. But you can also only drive to the parking and walk to the viewpoint. Or you can explore the area on foot. Among the birds you can observe are čajka ostrovná, čajka žltonohá, alka vrúbkozobá, sokol sťahovavý, sula hnedá, čajka tmavá, kavka tmavá, drozd kolohrivec, norec tenkozobý and čajka trojprstá.
