Ponta da Atalaia, in Sagres, is a very interesting birdwatching spot in Portugal. During autumn migration, the headland acts as a natural funnel where large numbers of passerines, raptors and seabirds concentrate before crossing to Africa. The site offers excellent opportunities for seawatching, with regular views of shearwaters, gannets, skuas and gulls, while the surrounding plateau attracts many migratory songbirds. The combination of spectacular coastal scenery and high bird diversity makes it a must-visit location for birders.
