The vicinity of the reservoir is a breeding ground for many bird species. The dam crown has been made available for pedestrians and cyclists, creating a "walking part" connecting Goczałkowice-Zdrój with Zabrzeg, thanks to which the area of the Goczałkowice reservoir has become a recreational place. Among the birds you can see are čajka bielohlavá, čajka smejivá, potápač veľký, trsteniarik veľký, strnádka obyčajná, orliak morský, chavkoš nočný, beluša veľká, cibík chochlatý, žeriav popolavý, kormorán veľký and rybár riečny.
