Description

The Wormer and Jisperveld is a patchwork of water and land. Hundreds of meadows surrounded by reeds and narrow ditches. The moist low-lying land is ideal for meadow birds, which are present here in large numbers in the spring. Among the birds you can observe in the area are brehár čiernochvostý, bojovník bahenný, kalužiačik malý, kalužiak močiarny, kalužiak sivý en šabliarka modronohá. But also, for example, čorík čierny breeds in the area.

Nederlands: Het Wormer- en Jisperveld is het grootste aaneengesloten veenweidegebied van West-Europa. In het voorjaar wemelt het hier van de weidevogels. Het is een lappendeken van water en land. Honderden weilandjes omgeven met rietkragen en smalle slootjes. Het vochtige laagveen is ideaal voor weidevogels, die hier in de lente in grote getale aanwezig zijn. Denk aan brehár čiernochvostý, bojovník bahenný, kalužiačik malý, kalužiak močiarny, kalužiak sivý en šabliarka modronohá. Maar ook bijvoorbeeld de čorík čierny broedt in het gebied.
