Description
The Vreugderijkerwaard is a 97-hectare wetland with up to five-meter-high river dunes and a secondary channel flowing along the river IJssel. The wetland has reedbeds and mudflats. A large part of the year the area is a resting place for migratory birds, so you can see cibík chochlatý, bojovník bahenný and brehár čiernochvostý. Accessible by car and parking 500 meters from the bird hide at a restaurant. Best to explore on foot to reach the hide. The route you see on the map is about 5 km, but only possible if the water of the river is low.
