The Terletse Heide is a beautiful heather field with some occasional trees and a nice area for birding.
On the Terletse Heide you walk on historical ground. During the Second World War a glider airfield was built here because this is a former meltwater valley consisting of sand and gravel, so nice and sturdy. The landscape is variable. There are trees now and then, there is a patch of grass and there are bare, sandy places. There are also small puddles with water where birds come to drink. Among the birds that have been seen here are lelek lesný, krkavec čierny, tesár čierny, muchár sivý, krutohlav hnedý, kukučka obyčajná, škovránok poľný, skaliarik sivý and stehlík konôpka.
There are several parking spaces and entrances to the area on Apeldoornseweg. Click on the P in the map to go there directly. The walking route that is shown on the map is 4 km.
It is best to visit the area in the morning, it is less crowded.
