Description
The different habitats of Vockestaert attract a variety of birds. The large fields of reed attract all kinds of reed loving birds like svrčiak slávikovitý , strnádka trstinová , trsteniarik malý , cetia západná , but in the area you can also find pŕhľaviar červenkastý , pŕhľaviar čiernohlavý , skaliarik sivý , slávik modrák , zelienka obyčajná , stehlík obyčajný , pinka obyčajná , kolibiarik spevavý and kolibiarik čipčavý.
There are also some small and larger waters in the area which attract all kinds of waterbirds. The combination with dense reed fields makes it prime habitat for shy and rare inhabitants like bučiačik močiarny and bučiak veľký which have been spotted here.
Then there are also meadows which in the spring harbor many meadowbirds such as cibík chochlatý , different types of Sandpipers, brehár čiernochvostý , kalužiak červenonohý , lastúrničiar strakatý and škovránok poľný. Recently the rare hus snežnička was spotted here as well.

Access
The area is very accessible and can be reached by car, bike and by foot. If you come by car there is a small parking lot closeby in the area (see the P on the map), otherwise you might want to park somewhere in the residential area that is adjacent.
