Description

The Prins Hendrikzanddijk is part of the reinforcements on the Wadden Sea dike of Texel. It is a 3 kilometer long sand dike that has been constructed in front of the dike in the Wadden Sea. The sandy fortification is 200 hectares in size. The varied and dynamic area consists of tidal flats, mud flats, salt marshes, beach and dunes. This area offers peace and space to all kinds of Wadden Sea birds such as kajka morská, šabliarka modronohá, kulík piesočný, lastúrničiar strakatý, lyžičiar biely, pobrežník čiernozobý and pobrežník hrdzavý.

Nederlands: De Prins Hendrikzanddijk is onderdeel van de versterkingen aan de Waddenzeedijk van Texel. Het is een 3 kilometer lange zanddijk die in de Waddenzee voor de dijk is aangelegd. De zandige versterking is 200 hectare groot. Het gevarieerde en dynamische gebied bestaat uit droogvallende platen, slikken, kwelders, strand en duinen. Dit gebied biedt rust en ruimte aan allerlei wadvogels zoals kajka morská, šabliarka modronohá, kulík piesočný, lastúrničiar strakatý, lyžičiar biely, pobrežník čiernozobý en pobrežník hrdzavý.
