In Poelbroekpark and the Meerwijkplas you will find lakes, reed hedges, pools, flowery grasslands and lots of birds. One of the most special birds that occurs is the bučiak veľký, but very hard to see. These birds will much easier to find: potápka malá, slávik modrák, slávik obyčajný, chriašteľ vodný, kukučka obyčajná, trsteniarik obyčajný and penica slávikovitá. Other birds you can see here are kačica chrapačka, kačica lyžičiarka, kačica chripľavka, kačica hvizdárka, kačica divá, kačica chrapka, hrdzavka potápavá, chochlačka sivá, chochlačka vrkočatá, potápač veľký,močiarnica mekotavá, rybárik riečny, lyžičiar biely and strnádka trstinová.

Nederlands: Poelbroekpark en de aangrenzende Meerwijkplas is één van de rijkste natuurgebieden in de stadsrand van Haarlem. Je vindt er water en riethagen, poelen, bloemrijke graslanden en heel veel vogels. Een van de meest bijzondere vogels er voorkomt is de bučiak veľký, ook al is die wel heel moeilijk te zien en moet je daarvoor ook een portie geluk hebben.
