This area, best visited in the afternoon for light conditions, often holds interesting (wintering) seabirds between the poles of the mussel beds.

Description

The mussel beds in this part of the Wadden Sea are a good feeding ground for birds like kajka morská , potápka čiernokrká and, in winter, potáplica malá and/or norec tenkozobý . When you're lucky, you may find a potápka ušatá or a potápka červenokrká between the numerous potápka čiernokrká , that gather here after the breeding season.

De mosselbanken in dit deel van de Waddenzee zijn een goede voedselplek voor vogels als kajka morská, potápka čiernokrká en in de winter potáplica malá en / of norec tenkozobý. Als je geluk hebt, vind je misschien een potápka ušatá of een potápka červenokrká tussen de talrijke potápka čiernokrká, die hier na het broedseizoen samenkomen.

Access

There is a parking lot along the IJsdijk and a maintenance road as well as a staircase going over the dike. Most of the birds can easily be seen from the dike. In winter, it may be interesting to search the outer rocks for ľabtuška skalná and snehuľka severská.

The Wadden Sea can be quite choppy, but the grebes can still be there. It may be worthwhile to take an extra good look.
