Description

A mosaic of water, reed, swamp groves and grasslands in the excavated peat. That is De Deelen, in the heart of the province of Friesland. In autumn and winter, thousands of ducks and geese, including kačica hvizdárka, hus bieločelá, kačica lyžičiarka and bernikľa bielolíca come to De Deelen. Rare species such as čorík čierny, volavka purpurová and kaňa močiarna also live in the area. If you listen carefully, you may be able to hear the svrčiak zelenkavý singing in the spring. Other birds you can see here are hus divá, lyžičiar biely, slávik modrák, hvizdák veľký, kačica divá, chochlačka vrkočatá, chochlačka sivá, potápka chochlatá, myšiak hôrny, bernikľa veľká, strnádka trstinová and rybár riečny.

Access

Small parking lot available. It is a walking area with some marked paths, Unfortunately also sometimes used by dog walkers. Has a small bird observatory. From the parking to the birdhide is about 1 km.
